Its funny to hear some people manipulate scripture when in comes to marriage. I have heard some people use Ephesians 5:22 (”Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord) as a stand alone verse and not understand it in the context it is meant to be used. Some men think that because God states for the wife to submit to the husbands, and combine that with the scripture stating men are the head of the house, they think that the women should give up all rights to them, as it is ordained by the Bible.

Unfortunately, these marriages don’t fair well in time. They end up with strife, immoral behavior, and even divorce. If we continue reading in Ephesians 5:25, 28, and 31, you will notice they all have one thing in common, that husbands ought to love their wives. I don’t know about you, but if God repeats something in the Bible 3 times in a row, I sure take it as absolutely necessary!

What is love? If you are uncertain, check out 1 Corinthians 13. I will be making a post on this particular scripture in the near future. For now, stick with what God has spoken to us, for husbands to love their wives.

If you have been listening to Lecrae for any length of time, you know his is the bomb! He has created a new generation of christian rap that we have not seen before. He has a way of touching lives and sharing the good news of Christ to everyone he meets. All of the recognition of his talents and abilities can be given to the Jesus Christ, the One who has blessed him with gifts not given to anyone else.

In life, there are times when we lack the proper understanding of why things happen. Perhaps it is when a close loved one dies even after heavy prayer and faith. Maybe it is when your looking for a job cause you were laid off, yet nothing seems to come your way. Often times we have doubt in our minds. It is the nature of being a human. When doubt arises or things don’t go the way you think they are supposed to go, do you blame  God? After all, He is not answering our prayers like He said He would, right?

This is a complex issue and one that can not be fully addressed in one blog post. However I will do my best to highlight a few issues regarding this topic. For starters, the earth belongs to Satan since the fall of Adam.  When this occurred, Satan became the ruler of it and thus created a place filled with sin and doubt and pain. It says in John 10:10 that the thief comes to kill, steal and destroy, but I have come that you man have life, and have it more abundantly. Adam’s sin caused Satan to be in control of the earth (Luke 4:5-7 & 1 John 5:19). In order to let God be in control of our lives, we must submit our lives to Him and let the Holy Spirit guide us. The Holy Spirit has been put on the earth to help us till the rapture. (John 16:5-8)

The truth is, God has His own plan for our life. Sometimes His plan will line up with ours, but sometimes it won’t. There are going to be times in your life where you feel God is against you, but don’t take that bait. That is Satan trying to get into your head and convince you to turn on God. It says in James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift comes from God.” If bad things are happening in your life, its not Gods doing, it is Satan.

Another point I would like to make is some people only call on God when they need it.  You can’t expect Him to answer our prayers if we have been living in sin and when problems arise, we call on Him. I found this article regarding this issue and encourage you to read it here.  It talks about how the prodigal son was unfaithful to his father and desired the things of the world, yet the father eagerly awaited his son’s return. God will never leave us nor forsake us, but we must make sure we are living for Him in order to reap His full plan and purpose for our lives.

In closing, Lecrae has a song entitled “Truth” on his Rebel album you must listen to. He raps and speaks on part of this message in that song. Please take the time to listen to it and to take a look into the mirror and make sure you are living for God always, and not just sometimes.

I am sure if you at this site, you are a Lecrae fanatic. If not, then I am sure it was a divine anointing by God directing you here. Regardless, my boys and I have been discussing the best of what Lecrae has to offer lyrically and phonetically. I think there is little doubt in our heads his talent surpasses many that preceded him. Over the past few years, Christian rap artists have made a real statement in the secular arena with better beats and radical rhymes. This alone has changed lives and hearts to God!

The recent release of his newest CD entitled Rebel, Lecrae has exceeded expectations and has created a masterpiece to the ear. He has shown that is true potential may still be within his soul in desperation to be heard. After listening his second album After the music stops, I thought that was about as good as it can possibly get. His approach to preaching the word of God through music was like nothing I had heard before. Sure T-Bone and Grits are very talented, I don’t doubt that, but something was different with Lecrae. His lyrics, his tone, his style captured me in a unique way.

Over the next week, I will be posting a top 10 list of the best Lecrae songs to date. This list includes some songs on his own albums, and some songs in which he was featured on others’ albums. The Don’t Waste Your Life Tour was represented by an astounding, multi-award nominated group of rap artists in love with Jesus Christ. Dove Award nominee Lecrae, GRAMMY Award nominee FLAME, Stellar Award nominee Trip Lee, Sho Baraka, and Tedashii visited over 25 cities throughout the country, and finished the tour off at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta Georgia.

DWYL Tour performed in New York, Miami, Minneapolis, Detroit, and more to sold out crowds who were “sold out” for Christ. They also made appearances at Creation Fest East and West and blessed over 30,000 people with their lyrical gifts and love for God.

The inspiration behind this tour was a book entitled “Don’t Waste Your Life” written by John Piper. Through Piper’s Desiring God Ministries and Reach Records, the DWYL message was transformed through ministry and music.

Relocating the Reach Records and ReachLife Headquarters from Memphis to Atlanta, the final tour stop also celebrates the partnership of newly formed Blueprint Church with the leading Christian Rap label, Reach Records.

If you have not had a chance to check this interview out, you are missing something inspiriational and spiritual. Sho Baraka is a very tallented indivdual with a strong desire to help people who need to be led to Jesus. He also loves the Lord with all his might. In his interview, there are 2 main topics; his new church called Blueprint Church, and his upcoming album release entitled “Lions and Liars.”

When asked about what the Blueprint Church will be all about and how it got its name, Sho’s response was “The whole idea of the name is to be grounded in the blueprint of Scripture. You’re going to hear a gospel-centered message, you’re going to hear a God-centered message, God-centered singing, God-centered poetry, videos. We’re going to try to do an excellent production, but ultimately it’s all going to be for the glory of the Lord. We have a tag that we go by that states ‘authentically connecting around Biblical truths.’ Our job is to authentically connect, but solely under Biblical truth. We don’t want to connect through being the urban church plant necessarily; we don’t want to connect solely under being people who can understand the hip-hop culture or who can understand the corporate market, or people who can understand Black history or Southern hospitality. We want to connect with people on all those different levels, but through Biblical authority and Biblical truth.”(taken from DaSouth.com )

As far as his new album with anticipation of being released early next year, Sho did not enlighten us as much as we hoped he would. He did however state that his time spent with his friends and fellow artists durring the DWYL tour helped him be challenged by them. Being around people like Lecrae, Tedashii, Trip Lee, Flame, DJ Official (producer/DJ), and Benjah (sound engineer, producer, writer and artist).

I have been reading a book entitled “Love the way to Victory” by Kenneth Hagin. If you get a chance, it is a must read book! Daddy Hagin discusses how the Bible tells us the importance love is in order to receive all God wants to give us. He is not referring to the love we have for one another, but refers to the God kind of love or Agape love. In 1 Corinthians 13:13 it states “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Kennith Hagin goes into detail about why love is so important. Again, this is a tremendous eye-opener and encourage you to read it, then read it again, and again.
