Lecrae.net has been created for several reasons. First of all, Lecrae Moore and the rest of 116 Clique has played a crucial role in guiding me back on the straight and narrow path of Jesus Christ. I grew up in an evangelical household and have been blessed to be surrounded by God’s love and miracles most of my life. However, once I got out of high school, I took a turn for the worst. I fell into many temptations by Satan and had moved away from God. A few years ago in 2007, an old friend gave me a CD he made. The first song on the CD was entitled “Sold Out” by Lecrae. Now I know many of my friends did not think that any gospel gangsta rap could compete with what the secular world was creating and up to this point I usually agreed. But after Lecrae, nothing else compared.
On a cool spring day in April, 2009, I felt like the secular rap music I had been listening to for years was not doing anything for me. I was sick of it all. I remembered the rapper Lecrae and started to do some research. I started looking up on blogs and Christian music sites to see what people were saying were the best of the best when it came to Christian rap. Time and time again, Lecrae seemed to be the consensus and I bought his Rebel CD off iTunes. It only took about 30 seconds of the intro until I knew this was nothing like I had ever heard from Christian rap. To me, it blew anything I have heard out of the water. Over the next few months I collected a total of 13 CD’s from 116 Clique to Tedashii to Shai Linne. I was hooked.
I started this website because I know there are others that are in the same boat as me. Its not endorsed by Lecrae, Tedashii, or any of the 116 Clique members. Its a site designed to help myself as well as others follow Jesus Christ. There are people who desire something that they can’t find. That something is Jesus Christ. You can find Him many ways. Mine was through Lecrae. Thanks be to God for giving him the gifts He has.
If you have never asked Jesus Christ into your heart or you have fallen away from Him, all you need to do is say this prayer:
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
