Not sure if this is the image LeCrae had in mind…but it is every fitting. In underwater diving, less than 40 meters is considered recreational diving. Past 40 meters is considered technical or for serious divers…there is even a change in the mix of gasses and pressure at this level. 40 deep spiritually indicates not just surface, recreational worship…not just shallow service or communion…rather 40 deep means I’m committed to going to the next level in my walk with Christ…I’m all in….regardless of what everyone else does…I don’t need 40 others…I only need Christ…If 40 or 400 follow that is great…but I’m going 40 meters deep in my worship, in my service, in my communion with Christ…not just fluff…it is real, genuine, and deep
@curious1 I think “40 deep” is phrase basically used as a synonym for “large community”. The song says they’re “cliqued up”, meaning they’ve got a group of guys, and it’s a really deep group with a lot of guys. There may be a deeper definition or meaning, but I think that’s the general idea.

I think you might want to listen to Lecrae’s Invisble or Jesus Music or any and every 116 song. They speak from the word of God, they teach God. Their in it for God and to help those who don’t have God. People who comment on 116 songs, say if it wasn’t for Lecrae and the 116 they wouldn’t have found God. Lecrae is the real deal. God loving, God fearing.
This brothers are a blessing to the LORD. Their anthem drive me to evanlegize and study God’s word. Good looking on posting this classic, I thank u LORD for allowing me to live to hear these brothers’ ministry.
